Debra Fitzgerald
Debra Fitzgerald is a woman in STEM that has grown and found her voice in the industry. She is currently Director of Observatory Systems and Engineering in the James Webb Space Telescope; an innovative telescope which will replace the Hubble telescope an will allow us to look back in time to the start of the universe. Balancing her important job and being a mother, she is the embodiment of a successful woman in STEM.

The Pilots have decided to honor Debra and her work by naming our robot Debbie, starting a new tradition: every year we will name our robot after a woman who is currently part of the STEM industry and deserves to be celebrated. We want others to know Debra and her amazing work ethic. We want to thank her for showing us that there is a path for us in STEM.
